The new Route and Area functionality in Airport Briefing 4 expands the way flight briefings are created, delivered, and consumed. Going beyond traditional airport-based briefs, this feature empowers operators to manage comprehensive briefing content that spans entire routes and operational areas – from departure to destination and everything in between.
What sets this feature apart is its integration with the new, highly interactive en-route interface. Replacing the legacy airport list, pilots now interact with a dynamic visual map that includes airports, routes, areas, and enroute elements such as waypoints, airways, airspaces, and more. This provides a fast, intuitive overview of relevant restrictions, cautions, and operational information—contextualized along the actual flight path.
For example, the Route and Area Briefing can highlight:
- Contingency procedures,
- No-fly zones,
- Decompression and engine-out driftdown scenarios,
- FIR restrictions,
- Country-specific cautions,
… all visually anchored to the relevant locations on the map for improved situational awareness and decision-making.
