Why is context-awareness important in operational threat evaluation?
Operational threats are rarely static.
The operational relevance and severity of a threat can change significantly depending on environmental conditions, runway selection, approach type, operational restrictions, aircraft type, weather evolution, time of day, operational workload, and many other operational factors.
A runway that presents relatively low operational complexity during daytime visual conditions may present substantially different operational considerations during low visibility, strong crosswinds, contaminated runway conditions, or nighttime operations.
Adaptive TEM continuously evaluates threats within their operational context, allowing the resulting operational threat picture to adapt dynamically as operational conditions evolve.
This helps ensure that operational attention remains focused on the operational threats most relevant to the current situation rather than relying solely on static or generic threat lists.
